Description

This tool allows the user to estimate boundary heat fluxes on a finite domain with a convective boundary from temperatures measured at any point within the slab (including the surface). The estimation procedure uses a zeroth-order function specification approach with future times to smooth the estimates. The user specifies the conduction parameters (sensor location, thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity) and the number of future times. The measured temperature data can be generated from prescribed flux shapes or from data read from a file. The output includes the RMS of the temperature residual, the estimated heat flux and the calculated temperature compared to the measured temperature.
